Great choice of program and performance. It spice up my Sunday. I am looking forward for more Sundays' as this season.
I didn't know that "Summertime" was part of "Porgy and Bess".
MPO played all my favourite tune from the classic Jazz in the era of 1930s. Really blown me off with the big band style together with the other orchestra instrument. Although the tune normally are supposedly be piano (keyboard), brass instruments and a singer. MPO did it with full sets of orchestra - string family, woodwind family, brass, percussion, harps and performing classis jazz. They played medley for Oklahoma! Very impressive too!
Superb performance, I would say!
It's been awhile since I update my blog on here. I was away for 6 days 5 nights in Siem Reap. Angkor Wat is one of the biggest temple in Siem Reap. Siem Reap is the name of the town. I would have to say, when I finally saw Angkor Wat in front of me, it was really spectacular and breathtaking to me. Finally, I was there!!!
I am still trying to sort the pictures and label them before I forget about it. These are a few pictures on Angkor Wat.
This is the very first place the driver brought us. I was stunned by the view of it. I stil remember I can't wait to see the rest of the places in that area. It's based on Hindu mythos "churning of the milk". On the left is the "Good" (Buddha) and on the right is the "Evil" (represent by some ugly statue) that they "churn" the milk for 1000 years. The legend says after churning for 1000 years a drop of nectar will be produced. The nectar is believe to give a longlife to whoever drink it.
Another interesting mirror image with the Buddha in Bayon Temple. Bayon Temple is one of the temple in Angkor Thom.
Yes! I plan to take up an adult ballet lesson next month. It wasn't in my 2007 New Year Resolution but since the ballet school can take in adult, why not?
Main reason taking ballet lessons is to have or correct my walking posture. I think I walk "very fast" with "little steps" not "gracefully" and "feminine" So, I hope to achieve this by attending ballet class.
Okay where should I start? let's start with what I did in the afternoon. I watched 3 movies in one afternoon! and went to the trance party happening at the Roof top of the shopping mall.
Finally, I went for the French Movie Hors De Prix (Priceless)
Pretty entertaining I would say. Are all the French guys have the same facial expressions? Why Alexandre and Peter have certain facial expression like this actor (Gad Elmaleh)? Pardon me because I do notice that not all the guys have the same expression. I know Peter could've pick up that expression into his personality because he did his University in France. And this Audrey so much reminded me of Soraya. I have to say this is a nice movie. I like it. Although there are reviews saying this is not very French .. more like a Hollywood movie. Oh well, I like it. It's soft and cheeky at the same time. Great!
Second movie, Shrek 3. It's an ok movie. I enjoy Shrek 2 more.
Third Movie, Pirates of the Carribean 3. It's ok. Not as funny as the second's.
Finally... I went to the UV Nation Rave Party! I saw DJ Benny Benassi (www.uvnation.com) It was SOOOO happening!! soooooo many people!! I saw SOOOO many good dancers dancing trance!! Wow!!!! it's been ages since I've gone out dancing trance with bunch of people!! Wow! Wow! Wow!!! I love this party!!! Now, I have to bug Iwor to go party with me when he comes back from Europe. :-)
I still remember that this is the first piece of classical music I like. I never started to like J.S Bach or Mozart or Beethoven for a start. I love dance music, be it Russians, Polish, Hungarian, etc that's how I am very good at playing all the 3 beats pieces. From there, then I slowly go deeper to Minuet. After playing all the world famous dance pieces, then only I slowly drill back to Mozart, Beethoven, Scarlatti and Haydn. I am not good in everything. I guess for J.S. Bach, I could only play couple of pieces from Prelude and Fugure that's about it. I can sight read very fast for any Sonatinas. Second reading, I would say I will be better. The difficult pieces for me are pieces from Bartok, Prokofiev, Chopin. Well, Chopin I can only play a few Etudes but not all...they are not easy... at least to me..
I missed the "My Fair Lady" last month. I plan to go for "The King and I" in July. However, speaking of that, I used to sing some of the musical in the choirs. One of my favourite, " Oh, What a Beautiful Morning!" from Oklahoma!
Another one I still remembered some part of it.. was an Italian Arias called " Caro mio bien" I was asked to sing the alto part which I wasn't really keen at that time. The thing is, alto is hard and not "as nice" as soprano. I guess the reason why the concert master put me sang on alto because I can read music notes. How unfair, huh? :-P

I will be attending this concert by Nina on coming Sunday. Accodring to the review, she sounded great! Too bad that Lang Lang has cancelled his concert in Malaysia.
"Elle magazine named Russian cellist Nina Kotova “one of the 25 people to hear next century”. That was in 1999 and now, six years into the century, the audience in Malaysia will get the opportunity to watch this dynamic performer in action. As well as Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony-“the apotheosis of the dace”, according to Richard Wagner- this exhilarating programme also includes a work by one of the greatest composers of this century." |

After reading this book, I realised that many of my favourite food are not actually "healthy" in the sense that it give great taste to my tastebuds but harmful to my body. Yikes! It is pretty scary... bye bye curry.. bye bye Thai Seafood Tomyam...bye bye chili!! also bye bye Haagen Daz....
My current diet should consists of pure fruit juice, lots of vegetables and it should make up of 80% of my daily diet.
I guess I don't have a choice in order to live healthy.
